Wayne Wiggins will be running to be elected for Council for a fourth term.
Wiggins says that his priority if re-elected is working on commercial and residential development. An important aspect of that is improving broadband connection. He says that if connectivity is improved, it won’t just help young people.
He says that with those improvements, it opens up new job opportunities as well as expands and improves current ones.
For the past 15 years, Ontario was under a Liberal government. Now with Premier Doug Ford and his PC party in control Wiggins says he’s optimistic about how they will treat Towns like Bancroft.
He says that he would welcome the help if it comes. With Bancroft being the hub for North Hastings, it can be tough to support the area on the backs of 3,500 people, he says.
Wiggins added that going into his fourth campaign, he’s still enjoying it. He says that being so well-known in town makes it easy, but he still likes going door-to-door to talk to people about town policies.
