Despite the rain we’ve gotten since Monday, the total fire ban is no closer to being lifted.
There has been 72.8 millimetres of rain since Monday, but Fire Chief Pat Hoover says that hasn’t changed anything.
He says that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry haven’t changed the fire bans that are in the areas surrounding Bancroft. Hoover has said in the past that if the fire ban is lifted, it will be done after consulting the other municipalities in North Hastings.
The Bancroft Fire Department will continue to monitor the situation throughout the weekend.
