Mayor Paul Jenkins wants the yearly audit to be made simpler.
At Council yesterday morning, associates from Collins Barrow presented the Town Audit for 2017.
Mayor Paul Jenkins says the process is a confusing one. He tells My Bancroft Now that he’s been pushing to simplify the Audit, but Collins Barrow has yet to do so.
Jenkins says he’s asked for them to make an additional document that would help make everything clearer to him, Council and the Public. He says that it’s not made clear in the presentation how the audit they do compares to the budget that was approved by Council
Jenkins added that the Town plans on taking the Audit and making it clearer. He added that this wouldn’t be the first time the Town has gone through this process. He explained that he’ll take the Auditors results, but translate it so that it relates back to the budget that was set last year. That way, he says, it will be easier for everyone to understand.
