The initial date to submit a proposal has been pushed back after delays in getting the word out.
The North Hastings Recreation Center Fundraising Committee released a statement earlier this month saying residents had until the 13th to submit a proposal for what to do with the $192,000 in the fund. However, a member of the committee has told My Bancroft Now that the date has been pushed back to the 28th. He says it’s because they were delayed in getting the word out to residents.
The member of the committee confirmed that the money must be used for something pool or water related. He would not comment on if any proposals have been submitted yet.
Wilma Brethour, who runs the Facebook page Concerned Citizens of Bancroft & Dungannon and is behind the North Hastings Pool of Dreams Negotiation Committee, tells My Bancroft Now she’s looking to hold another public meeting to discuss this. The first meeting was held in late August and was where the negotiation committee was formed.
The date and time of that meeting has yet to be decided by the committee.
