Community Trust Conducting Survey on Water And Wastewater Rate

North Hastings Community Trust says they will be going into the community to survey people on their water and wastewater rates.

They previously did a pilot water and wastewater survey. “From that data we have collected, we feel it necessary and important to collect a bit more information from the community,” Jo-Anne Reynolds, the Community Organizers with Community Trust says

“People are becoming desperate about what bills need to be paid,” says Jo-Anne Reynolds, the Community Organizer with Community Trust. That’s why she says this survey is important. Community Trust wants to speak to the people whose lives are affected by the water and wastewater rates so that they can present this information to council.  “We want to use the data to influence council because we don’t want a rate increase this year,” Jane Kali, the Director of Community Trust, says.

The surveying process has already started. Jane Kali, Director of Community Trust, says it will be a two week process. “We’re hoping that with this information and they hear directly from the people who are affected that they will pay attention,” Kali says.

The survey is also available online.
