Roughly 50 contract elementary teachers across North Hastings will be in strike position come Monday.
Dave Henderson, president of the Hastings branch of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, says the ETFO will begin job action May 11. He says this means that while teachers will continue to teach, they won’t be a part of any activities to do with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board or the Ministry of Education. Henderson says occasional teachers will still be impacted, but that they’re in a different bargaining system.
He adds that the ETFO has dates set to meet with the HPEDSB in May and June. Further bargaining details aren’t being released.
