Fish Hatchery partnering with Switzers Auction to hold fundraiser

Around this time of the year, the North Hastings Community Fish Hatchery would be hosting its annual fundraiser dinner, but that’s been cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In its place, Director of the Board for the North Hastings Community Fish Hatchery  Ian Hendry tells the MyBancroftNow.com newsroom they are partnering with Switzers Auction to host a charity fundraiser. He says that fishing rods and reels will be auctioned off along with some power tools donated by the Bancroft Canadian Tire. Hendry says he’s excited to also be auctioning off a guided tour with Frank Kuiack. “He’s known as the last guide,” he says. “He’s been guiding in Algonquin Park since he was eight years old.”

A raffle is also being held with the winner getting a Ruger .308 rifle with a scope. Hendry says each ticket will cost $25 and you can buy as many as you like. Only 100 tickets will be sold for the raffle.

The auction is being held from July 4th until the 18th on Switzers Auction’s website.
