Hasting County Receiving $5.9 Million to Help Community Paramedicine

In an effort to help seniors on the waitlist for a long term care spot, the Province is investing money to expand Paramedicine in Hastings Prince Edwards.

MPP Daryl Kramo announced the $5.9 million will help seniors stay safe while living in the comfort of their own homes. Kramp says this is in an effort to help end hallway health care and provide care for seniors. The money will go to things like in-home health services, home visits and in-home testing, monitoring of patients to prevent emergency situations, education and connecting patients with families.

Warden Rick Philips of Hastings Prince Edwards says it will directly benefit people on waitlists. Carol Smith Romeril, VP of Quinte Health Care, says this initiative will keep people home without having an extended hospital stay.
