One of the best views in town will be closed as winter approaches.

The Bancroft Eagles Nest will be closed to the public this Sunday. The town says that it will reopen sometime next spring.

The park was able to open for the first full season since the Pandemic this year. After COVID-19 guidelines postponed the grand reopening in 2020, the new improvements to the park were unveiled in the spring. Many of the new improvements revolved around accessibility.

The Stewards of Eagles Nest Park want to continue making improvements to the park. In July, the stewards got approval to erect a plaque at the top of the Eagles Nest to show support and create awareness for reconciliation and healing for the Algonquin and Anishinabe people.
