With municipal elections taking place next year, the vacant seat on Bancroft Town Council will be filled by appointment.
The seat was left vacant after Andra Kaffeldt assumed the position of General Manager of the Town on December 1st. Mayor Paul Jenkins says that by-elections are expensive to do, and vacant council seats have been by appointment in the past. This also put them well within the
Jenkins did not indicate who would serve but said that someone with experience would be an asset. With only a few months to go before the 2022 municipal elections, the new councillor will have a big learning curve.
The Town will make an announcement on January 11th as to who will fill the vacant seat.
