United Way funding counselling services for North Hastings youth

United Way Hastings and Prince Edward is bringing in a group to help youth get connected with counselling services.

The charity has penned a one-year deal with counselling service Youth Diversion to hire a substance use and addiction counsellor who will operate at North Hastings High School. The services will be offered to youth aged nine to 18.

United Way Executive Director Brandi Hodge says her organization was informed by agencies in North Hastings that there were challenges for youth in North Hastings and brought the group in to respond to those challenges.

Youth Diversion says they have been offering services in Kingston, Frontenac Lennox and Addington Counties for over 46 years.
