Sewer flushing continues for some streets

Another round of sewer flushing is happening in the Town of Bancroft.

The flushing will occur on Tuesday, May 24th. It will affect residences at Chemaushgon Road, Station Street, Monck Street, Bridge Street West, Sherbourne Street North and Maple Street.

Residents and businesses are not expected to be affected by the cleaning of the sewers. However, there is a chance of some noise and small spills, resulting in some odours. This is due to the movement of water through the pipes during the flushing process.

Water company Veolia says the flushing process will remove grit, sand, gravel and grease from the sewer mains, which will help in preventing blockages.
