Families in Hastings Highlands and Faraday may soon have to pay extra fees for programs at Bancroft’s arena. But residents of Carlow Mayo might not.
Councillors from the municipality, east of Bancroft, have voted to help fund the North Hastings Community Centre. They supported Bancroft’s request for three thousand dollars for 2023.
The town has been asking municipal neighbours to help fund the arena, after taking it over last year.
Councils for Faraday and Hastings Highlands have declined requests to fund it, citing its recent financial losses.
Bancroft’s Mayor has said the town will look to charge extra user fees to people from municipalities that aren’t funding the arena.
