The United Way of Hastings & Prince Edward will aim to raise $2.2 million this year.
The fundraising goal was unveiled at a breakfast event in Belleville Thursday, to kick off the annual fall campaign.
The money raised supports 42 agencies and 65 programs in the region, including North Hastings agencies, such as Community Care North Hastings, North Hastings Children’s Services and Bancroft Community Transit.
Several fundraising initiatives and events will take place between now and the campaign’s end date of January 31, 2024.
This year’s goal is an increase from last year, when the campaign successfully reached its $2 million goal.
Executive Director Brandi Hodge says, “United Way HPE has been a driving force for positive change in our community for 65 years this year.”
