“We’re so thrilled to have someone with her energy and compassion and knowledge” said Brooks, “She’ll be a real asset to not only our team of clinical staff but most importantly to our patients”

Dr. Ahearn’s not the only one joining the hospice team. Her dog Dave is a vet-approved therapy dog and will also be joining.

“Dave is just adorable. He’s a trained service dog” continued Brooks, “She has used him in the past with the patients and the patients just love him and really cling to him”

Dr Ahearn also works as a GP-hospitalist at the Bancroft hospital and is involved in teaching medical students and resident learners from a variety of medical schools residency programs.

Dr Ahearn told hospice she feels honoured to have been selected as their Medical Director and is eager to work with the team in supporting community patients and their families.
