Film Buffs might want to head to Maynooth this Wednesday.
The Arlington Hotel has been having weekly showings of Criterion collection films and this Wednesday they will be showing the 1987 romantic fantasy “Wings of Desire”
“It’s curate by film buffs, [the Criterion Collection] so pretty much whatever movie you choose from there, it’s going to be a classic” said Ro, owner of the Arlington Hotel and Pub in Maynooth.
According to the write-up “Wings of Desire was: “Made not long before the fall of the Berlin Wall, an its stunning tapestry of sounds and images, forever made the name of director Wim Wenders synonymous with film art”
Some might be familiar with the story of Wings of Desire as it was the movie that the Meg Ryan film City of Angels was based on.
The movie will start rolling this Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
