“One game final showdown” Jets U15 Girls win play-off series, off to Championship Game

The Bancroft Jets U15 Girls hockey team has made it to the Eastern Ontario Championships.

The team played some edge-of-your-seat hockey last weekend against the Leaside Wildcats in their second round-robin playoff series.

Coach Sean Ferguson said in their second game against the Wildcats, the Jets had to win by at least four goals to make it to the championship game.

Coach Ferguson “And the girls facing that sort of adversity battled real hard right to the end and we ended up winning 4 nothing which was the minimum required to advance to the championship league”

“We played short handed and we’re able to keep the goals out of our nets. We ended up with a shutout and this is the first time for any of these girls on this team to experience a final like this so super fun” Ferguson continued, “ So we’re going all the way down to Etobicoke where they’re hosting all the league Championship final games all in one arena and we have one game showdown against Kincardine and winner take all”

Ferguson also praised this years team’s diverse experience:

“We’ve got an experienced group and we’ve also got an inexperienced group, girls from Apsley as well. And they’ve all come together and done a fantastic job.”

They final scores for last weekends games were 7-3 and 4-0 for the Jets.

The final game will be played this coming Saturday in Etobicoke at 11:45 am. you can check for updates on the Bancroft Jets Facebook page.
