The Town of Bancroft is encouraging residents with questions about Ontario’s new blue box recycling program to reach out to the province’s central contact line.
Residents can call 1-866-358-3560 for information about how the new system works and what materials are accepted.
In Bancroft the changes took effect on July 2.
The province-wide shift to the new system is part of a rollout mandated by the Ontario government, which places responsibility for recycling collection and processing on the producers of packaging and printed paper.
A video explaining the new program is also available online. For more information, residents are encouraged to visit the Town of Bancroft’s website or search online for provincial blue box program details here.
