Total fire bans being lifted in some areas

Some total fire bans are being lifted in the region today.

Municipalities who are lowering their bans to level one as of today include the Town of Bancroft, Hastings Highlands, Wollaston, Carlow Mayo, Faraday, and Limerick.

A level one fire ban permits nighttime campfires only, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Fires must be small, around two feet by two feet.

Municipalities who still have total fire bans on their websites as of 12 p.m. Friday include Central Hastings, Madoc, Marmora & Lake, Tudor & Cashel, Stirling & Rawdon, and Tweed.

A total fire ban does not permit fires of any kind.

For more information about fire bans in your area, visit your municipality’s website.
