DVDs in support of turtles: Think Turtle hosting sale

The Think Turtle Conservation Initiative is hosting a DVD sale this weekend in support of the turtles and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Think Turtle Managing Director Kelly Wallace said they have a large collection of DVDs, which they’ve amassed over a number of years through donations.

She said they were planning their first DVD sale right as the pandemic was starting and it ended up getting cancelled. When they finally were able to host it, they had around 1,000 DVDs collected.

She said just when she thinks the DVDs are all gone, they get more donated.

“The funny thing is, by this far along, we kind of thought that we’d be finished with the DVDs. But we still have quite a few DVDs. And it’s interesting because the selection keeps getting refreshed because we keep getting new ones,” she said.

Wallace said they’ve had a lot of success over the years with selling the DVDs, as a lot of people in the area still use them.

They’ll be priced at $2 each or three for $5.

The sale is taking place at 29 Bay Lake Road in L’Amable on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The rain date is Sunday.
