First ad hoc committee meeting for community centre scheduled for today

The ad hoc committee for the North Hastings Community Centre will have their first meeting today.

The committee was formed to discuss the non-resident user fees currently in place at the community centre, and options going forward for altering them.

The non-resident user fee for the 2026-27 season is supposed to be $600, but members of Bancroft town council have been making efforts to change that to ensure the arena is still affordable for use.

The agenda for today’s meeting includes reviewing the purpose and goals of the committee, and going over information comparing the community centre’s user fees and ice rental rates with those of other surrounding facilities.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in council chambers.
