Bancroft town council to discuss user fee recommendations from NHCC committee

A staff report recommends non-Bancroft-residents pay a $200 user fee rather than the previously proposed $600 for ice time at North Hastings Community Centre next season.

Bancroft town council will address rental rates and user fees proposed by the North Hastings Community Centre Ad Hoc Committee at their meeting tomorrow.

The committee was formed following this year’s budget process to discuss ice rental rates and user fees for 2026-27.

The report also recommends a 10 per cent increase to the adult and youth ice rental rates for next season, based on committee discussions.

User fees for future seasons will be determined at a later date, and the report states this would be based on further negotiations with surrounding municipalities to establish a new cost-sharing framework.

Tomorrow’s meeting starts at 3 p.m. in council chambers and will be livestreamed on YouTube.
