Coe Hill Riders raised thousands of dollars through charity rides

It was perfect weather for the final charity ride of the season Saturday for the Coe Hill Riders.

The poker run-style ATV ride included 60 participants and raised $3,910 for Tri-Township Community Food Basket.

Event coordinator Ashley Pyle told MyBancroftNow the June ride raised $2,535 for the Limerick Fire Department and the August event brought in $2,920 for North Kawartha Foodbank.

The club says it is dedicated to promoting safe operation of ATVs, fostering environmental stewardship to protect natural resources and encouraging tourism by highlighting unique destinations for riders.

At Saturday’s ride, Director of Training Desi O’Brien gave a lesson on how to repair a flat tire on the trail.

Drivers were also provided with a take home tire repair kit.

Donated raffle prizes were valued at more than $1,200 and door prizes included cash and swag items.

CHATV is part of the Ontario Federation of All Terrain Vehicles.

The club’s mission is to provide a responsible, environmentally conscious, and enjoyable outdoor experience for members.
