Bancroft Community Family Health Team doctor closing family practice

The Bancroft Community Family Health Team has announced that Dr. Micayla Ahearn’s family medicine practice will be closing at the end of January next year.

The health team said in a news release that due to the ongoing shortage of family physicians, they are unable to guarantee all patients will be reassigned to another primary care provider.

Impacted patients will be contacted by letter mail outlining individual circumstances and next steps.

The health team said patients that are not reassigned are encouraged to register with Health Care Connect, which helps individuals to find a family physician or nurse practitioner accepting patients.

The health team said they appreciate the understanding and patience of their patients as they navigate the transition and continue working towards improving access to primary care in North Hastings.
