The OPP is warning area residents to be careful around open and fast moving water. With the changing weather conditions and thawing, water levels are rising and flowing quickly. There are very strong currents and the water is very cold in all rivers, creeks and streams. You must also be watchful for debris floating and below the surface of the water. The ground along the edges of rivers and open water is likely to be unstable and could give way anytime. The OPP is asking adults to watch their children near any body of water and to educate them about the dangers of being around water.
