The LCBO will be starting a program to fund the Best Start Resource Centre by making it possible for consumers to make a donation at any of their stores throughout Ontario. Donation boxes will be at checkout counters until September 13th. A number of provincial strategies have been used to raise awareness about the risks of drinking alcohol during pregnancy and the LCBO has supported these strategies by including information on the risks of alcohol use during pregnancy in its stores, and in its FOOD&DRINK magazine. All funds raised will be used to promote healthy pregnancies and healthy babies, and focus on preventing alcohol use during pregnancy.
