Knights to play first franchise game in Haliburton

The North Kawartha Knights will be making its franchise debut in Haliburton tomorrow night.

Head Coach and General Manager Duane Wiltshire says the team plays 21 home games every season, and this year, it will be playing one in Haliburton. Wiltshire says the goal of hosting a game in the village is to grow the concept of Junior C Hockey in small towns in the area.

Wiltshire says the rink is a little different than what the team is used to at the North Kawartha Community Centre. Because of this, he says fans can expect a different style from the Knights.

The Knight’s roster features a couple players from Haliburton county. Wiltshire says, by hosting a game in the village, the team hopes to have more players from Haliburton try out in years to come.

The puck drops at the A.J. Larue Community Centre tomorrow night at 8:00pm.
