Bancroft’s request for municipal lotteries gains support

More municipalities are supporting Bancroft’s request to the province to let municipalities host their own lotteries.

The goal of these municipal lotteries would be to help raise funds for local infrastructure needs.

A number of municipalities are now throwing their support behind the request, including the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, the Township of Tyendinaga, the Township of Black River – Matheson, the Township of Dubreuilville, and the Municipality of Mattive-Val Côté.

Earlier this month, the City of Toronto also requested that the province allow it to host its own lottery to bring in money for infrastructure and transit.
