Deer hunting violations lead to hefty fines

A Richmond Hill man has been fined $3,500 for firing a gun from a road and for trespassing.

It happened on Loon Lake Road near Dysart et al last November.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the man shot and killed a deer from the road, before trespassing to go collect it.

The man has now been handed a $2,000 fine for firing from a road, $1,500 for trespassing, along with a one-year hunting licence suspension.
