Ice is beginning to melt on lakes and rivers in Algonquin Park.
Open water is expected in some areas this weekend as we start to see warmer temperatures.
Large lakes, including some backcountry lakes, are expected to hold ice cover longer.
Park staff will be checking on these during an ice flight to assess overall ice conditions in Algonquin Park scheduled for Monday.
