The municipality of Highlands East is already planning Canada Day 2017.
Chair of the Economic Development and Business Advisory Committee Cec Ryall is planning on applying for additional funding.
This is because Ryall wants to expand the events across the municipality next year.
He says $50,000 is available in grants, and he will develop a budget by August for the grant deadline.
Ryall says the proposal will be going to council for approval.
