Hastings Highlands’ Mayor wants the public to get more input about potential school closures.
This comes as the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board’s accommodation review process had Maynooth Public School listed as one that could be shut down. The board is currently holding off on any school closures in North Hastings.
Mayor Vivian Bloom says closing Maynooth Public School would hurt the community.
Bloom says, if the board is considering shutting down any school, the community should be the first to know.
