Bancroft is being asked to hold off on its 53 per cent increase to water and sewer rates until another solution can be found.
That request comes from organizers of a town hall held last month, to get feedback from ratepayers about how the town could address the increase, and Bancroft’s $2-million water and sewer deficit.
North Hastings Community Trust Program Coordinator Jane Kali says the rate increase is not sustainable for anyone.
A report has been released from the town hall, and Kali says it will be put forward to all levels of government.
