Drivers caught speeding on a stretch of Highway 62 in Barry’s Bay will fine double the regular amount.
Renfrew County Council has approved creating a new community safety zone in front of Madawaska Valley District High School, between Lakeshore Drive and Stafford Street.
Fines will be doubled for all driving offences in front of the high school.
Madawaska Valley Mayor Kim Love says the zone is expected to be enforced starting in two weeks.
