Strategic Plan reports good news for Hastings Highlands

Hastings Highlands is on track to meet its strategic goals by 2019.

That’s according to Strategic Plan Quarterly reports presented to Hastings Highlands Council during its meeting yesterday.

Operations Manager Adrian Tomasini put forward timelines to council about plans for repairs to Highway 62 and converting some landfills into waste transfer stations. Tomasini says more information on repairs to Highway 62, along with a long-term vision for all roads, will be coming up at the next council meeting.

Treasurer David Stewart presented information to council about priorities for the municipality, including developing a reserve strategy by 2018. Stewart says another goal is to have next year’s budget ready by the end of 2017.

CAO Pat Pilgrim also listed a number of priorities for the municipality. Pilgrim says one of them is continuing to develop a lobbying strategy to make all levels of government aware of the municipality’s needs.
