Hastings Highlands’ Mayor says she’s doubtful a portion of Kamaniskeg Lake will become part of the Madawaska Valley.
This comes after the Kamaniskeg Area Property Owners’ Association pitched the idea to Madawaska Valley council, to redivide municipal boundaries to move the lake from Hastings Highlands to Madawaska Valley.
Mayor Vivian Bloom says a request still has to come forward to Hastings Highlands Council before the process can even begin.
Bloom says it would also take a discussion between both municipalities, and both counties, which could take a long time.
