Taxes will be going up for property owners in Haliburton County his year.
Haliburton County Council has approved its 2017 budget, which comes with an almost five per cent increase to taxes. That equals out to an extra nine dollars a year for a property assessed at around $100,000.
Treasurer Elaine Taylor says that number brings the county closer to the level of taxes required for long-term sustainability.
