The Ontario Clean Water Agency will not be able to save the town of Bancroft $100,000 on water and wastewater operations in 2017.
Councillor Bill Kilpatrick had put forward a motion to make the request for the savings from OCWA. In a letter to council, OCWA says the savings were on the condition it was offered a renewed contract, which is not the case at this time.
Kilpatrick says he’s uncertain about the response.
The goal of asking for the savings was to help address the town’s $2-million water and sewer deficit.
