Local MPP addresses what he wants to see in the provincial budget

Prince Edward-Hastings MPP Todd Smith wants to see the province focus on its debt in the upcoming budget.
The province has announced the 2017-2018 budget will be released on April 27th. The province says it is meant to be balanced, create jobs and grow the economy. Smith says one thing he would like to see the budget address is the province’s over $300-billion debt.

Smith says he is also asking that some of the $160-billion earmarked by the province for infrastructure be put towards communities in North Hastings, and across Hastings County.

He says he wants the province to address the electricity file in a meaningful way.

Smith says he also wants to see the province stop the process of potential school closures in Ontario, which could have a major impact on rural communities.
