Local Algonquin community to vote on treaty representative

Members of Bancroft’s Algonquin community will soon be able to vote on their Negotiation Representative.

These ANRs will be responsible for negotiating a treaty between the Algonquins of Ontario and the provincial and federal governments.

The two candidates running for the Kijicho Manito Madaouskarini Algonquin First Nation are Stephen Hunter and Udora Yateman.

The ANR will have a three-year term.

Elections start in late May, and continue into June, before the election results are announced on Friday, July 7th.
