The Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP is sounding off on a proposed provincial septic tank legislation.
The province is looking at implementing new legislation forcing anyone with a septic tank to get it pumped every five years. MPP John Yakabuski says anyone who owns a septic system knows that’s not necessarily needed.
Yakabuski says the change could have an impact on the wallets of rural residents because pumping a septic tank can be expensive.
Yakabuski is asking Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs to consult with people living in rural Ontario.
