Decision on Hastings Highlands election signs deferred

Hastings Highlands Council will hold off on a decision to stop the use of election signs in 2018.

Deputy Mayor Greg Roberts had put forward the motion, and says one the reasons is the cost of putting up these signs, especially now that council has approved municipality-wide elections.

Councillor Alex Walder asked that the motion be deferred until the municipality can find out if it’s legal.

The motion will come back at a future meeting.
