Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health has a new Acting Medical Officer of Health.
The health unit says Dr. Ian Gemmill has taken on the role on a part-time basis. This comes after the former Medical Officer of Health Dr. Richard Schabas retired at the end of 2016.
Plans are also in the works for the future. Public Health says Dr. Piotr Oglaza will complete specialized training, in the hopes he can take on the role in July, 2018.
