Police urge drivers to practice construction zone safety

Police are urging drivers to be cautious when heading into construction zones this summer.

Haliburton OPP Constable Dianna Dauphinee says there are some steps you can take to make sure everyone is safe when heading into a construction zone.

Dauphinee says it’s also important to drive defensively, expect the unexpected, and never tailgate.

Lower speed limits are often posted in construction zones, and drivers are being reminded fines for disobeying them are doubled when workers are present.
