Some North Hastings residents think electricity is still unaffordable

Some North Hastings residents don’t think electricity has become more affordable since the introduction of the ‘Fair Hydro Plan.’

The plan has been in effect for a month now, with the province saying the average residential customer’s electricity bill will drop 25 per cent.

Moose FM took to the streets to find out if North Hastings residents think their bills have become more affordable.

The province also says the drop in electricity rates could even be as high as 50 per cent for some eligible customers in rural and remote communities, or those who have a low income.
