Parents reminded to reset routine for new school year

With a new school year now less than a week away, it’s time for parents to get their kids back into a routine.

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is offering a few tips to help you do that.

The board says parents can use this week to adjust when their kids are going to bed and waking up to line up with a usual school day. You can also get your kids involved in planning healthy lunches and snacks.

The board also suggests parents read or do simple math with their kids to help get them ready for school. It’s also important to make sure kids have a positive mindset about going back to school.

You may also want to have a chat with your kids about how to safely walk to school or to their bus stops.
