Rainfall warning ends; power outages linger

Although Environment Canada’s rainfall warning has ended for the Bancroft area, some damage has been done. The weather agency had been calling for up to 50 millimetres of rain this morning, and winds gusting up to 70 kilometres an hour, capable of breaking trees and causing power outages.

There are some scattered power outages in the area, affecting more than 200 Hydro One customers. Estimated times of restoration vary, but could be as late as 12:30pm.
