Smart Meters Cost Ratepayers $2 Billion

MPP Todd Smith is angry about the release from the Auditor General which says that implementing Smart Meters province-wide cost ratepayers 2 billion dollars. Smith says that is why his party opposed smart meters all along. In addition to the cost for Smart Meters, the Auditor says that the cost for “time-of-use” electricity pricing and the Global Adjustment from the Green Energy Act will cost ratepayers an additional $50 billion between 2006 and 2015. Smith commented that because of what the current government has done to the grid, poor and middle class people will be left in the dark.
