North Hastings Music Festival marks 60th anniversary

Your chance to catch live music in Bancroft is coming up quickly.

The 60th annual North Hastings Music Festival starts next week, and Committee Member Gillian Plumb says it will be very exciting. She calls it a chance for local musicians to perform in front of an audience, build their confidence, and learn from professionals coming to the area. But Plumb also says there will be something new at this year’s festival, as amplifier and microphone sessions will be introduced.

A new tradition started last year will continue, as adjudicators will be invited to perform. Plumb says she is very excited because this year’s adjudicator’s performance will feature Bancroft’s-own Julie Fitzgerald.

The Fitzgeralds perform at 7:00pm on Monday at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle. Tickets are $10 each.

The rest of the performances are open to everyone by donation. There will be morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. You can find the full schedule below, or pick up programs at any of the concerts or at Guitar Nuts Music Shop. You can also find out more about this year’s festival by clicking here.
