Internet Safety

Tuesday was International Safer Internet Day, promoting the safe and responsible use of the internet and cell phones, with the more vulnerable members of society in mind. When it comes to online scams or bullying, children and seniors seem to be popular targets. There are many resources available to assist with internet issues such as bullying, and you can find some at these sites:

Adults should also be aware that they may fall prey to scams and should also be cautious while on the internet. Computer repair scams and “family members in need of help scams” target seniors.

If you feel you are the victim of an online criminal activity you should call your local police service as well as Phone Busters 1-888-495-8501.
